The new studio was officially opened by June Snowden, president of the Hospital Broadcasting Association. The station has been broadcasting from the new rooms since November.

The new studio was officially opened by June Snowden, president of the Hospital Broadcasting Association. The station has been broadcasting from the new rooms since November.

 

Chairman Nigel Gray commented “The whole of the membership is delighted with the new studio - it is absolutely first class”.

The annual Hospital Broadcasting Association awards were held tonight in Glasgow. Radio Redhill sent along Chairman Nigel Gray and Ian Wilson, the Head of Programming Resources. Programmes were entered in all categories, and the station did rather well.

In the overall “Station of the Year” category, Radio Redhill came second behind Bath Hospital radio, and also won a top gold award in the “Special Event” category for a report from the Bluebell Railway in Sussex. Irwyn Davies came sixth in the “Presenter of the Year” category while the station came ninth overall for its creative use of music.
