2003 Radio Redhill Chairman, Nigel Gray, is nominated for the Surrey Mirror
Newspaper’s ‘Local Heroes Award’. Nigel, who has been
chairman for 19 years, was nominated by former vice chairman, John Jackson. John said that he nominated Nigel because
of all he has done for Radio Redhill and the
hospital community. |

23rd
May 2003 Penny Barter, from St. Bede's
School, Redhill, finishes her week of work
experience at Radio Redhill. Over the week Penny has had the opportunity to learn about how Radio Redhill is run, and try her hand at many of the behind the scenes jobs. She was also able to collect requests from the wards and then introduce them live on air during the nightly request shows. |

Radio Redhill took away
two awards. A Gold award for Best Speech Package (sponsored by IRN). The entry was Irwyn Davies
reporting from the London to Brighton veteran car run. Our
second award was in the Special Event category. This was our live broadcast
from the Dorking Christmas late night shopping gala in December 2002,
where we brought a flavour of the event in Dorking
to the bedside. |

21st February 2003 Dame Judi Dench Visits Radio Redhill for an hour-long programme
presented by Irwyn Davies. In the programme, Dame Judi talks about her life and career, as
well as choosing some of her favourite music. The programme was broadcast over Easter 2003. Click here to listen to the programme. |
