Redhill's Chairman, Nigel Gray, was presented with gifts and well
wishes from station members at the autumn member's meeting after being
the station's Chairman for twenty-five years. The members had arranged
a collection without Nigel knowing, and co founder Andrew Fowler
presented these to Nigel at the meeting.

Other members also received long service awards. Vice Chairman, Alan Stidder and Secretary, Sue Mason-Brown, were both presented with thirty year certificates. Station Engineer, Ian Wilson, received his award for fifteen year’s service. Nicky Quantick, who takes on the arduous task of the station’s mail out every month, has completed twenty years service. Colin Hastings and Carolyn Howie have been with Radio Redhill for ten years. Head of Fundraising, Dave Francis, was presented with his five year certificate and Madeleine Goumas has also clocked five years. |

met and interviewed many interesting people to bring a flavour of the
event back to the listeners in the East Surrey Hospital.

Redhill has a successful night at the HBA Awards. This year's awards
were held on Leeds, and Radio Redhill received awards in no
fewer
than five categories. The major award this time was our entry for
‘Male Presenter of the Year,’ which won Radio
Redhill

a Silver Award. Dave presents the weekday afternoon show as well as
other programmes including his weekly Smooth 60, which features jazz,
funk and soul every Monday evening.

The station received a Highly Commended award in the Special Event category for Irwyn Davies’s feature about the Bluebell Railway’s Southern at War event, and another in the Speech Package category for the report on the Variety Club Golf Day by Dave Francis. Commended awards were won by the Redhill Country programme with Nigel Gray in the Specialised Music category and for our entry for Station of the Year. |

and partner Helen Backway successfully complete their sponsored
skydive. They jumped 10,000 feet to raise money for Demelza who provide
Hospice Care for Children.
